Canterbury Adventure Race

This exciting team event run as a fundraiser for Middleton Grange School. 3-hour, 6-hour or 9-hour options are available. The event will be held in a mystery location within 30 minutes drive of the Christchurch CBD - details provided 24 hours before the race!

Date: Saturday 9th August 2026.
Start Time: 7.30am for the 9-hour event. 8.30am for open male, open mixed and student teams in the 6-hour event. 9am for open women and family teams in the 6-hour event. 10am for the 3-hour event.
Cost: Early bird discounts apply to entries before midnight on Sunday 26th July 2026. Simply add the individual entries of each member for family teams.

  • 9-hour event: $170 per adult and $110 per student.
  • 6-hour event: $140 per adult and $90 per student.
  • 3-hour event: $110 per adult and $70 per student.

The 3-hour event is designed for families and beginners to adventure racing. If you’re keen to try an adventure race but unsure if you could do it then this is the race for you. You will need to be able to jog or walk approximately 5km off road, and mountain bike approximately 10km on forestry roads or single track.

The 6-hour event is designed to be an achievable event for all competitors with a reasonable level of fitness and some navigational competency. You will need to be able to jog or walk approximately 10km off road, and mountain bike approximately 30km on 4WD trails and single-track.

The 9-hour event is designed to be a challenging but achievable event for all competitors with a reasonable level of fitness and some navigational competency. You will need to be able to run or jog approximately 20km off-road, and mountain bike approximately 50km on 4WD trails and singletrack.
