Info for Physical Activity Professionals
Welcome to the Active Canterbury for physical activity professionals!
Whether you are a volunteer or work full-time, or whether you:
- Lead a walking group
- Instruct group exercise classes
- Teach the Salsa
- Manage other people to instruct groups or classes
... then this section is for you – and it's all FREE!
With Active Canterbury You Can:
Make it easy for people to find out about your programme
A Canterbury-wide promotional campaign will encourage people to go to this website for information about how to be active in Canterbury via the Active Canterbury Search. This search is powered by CINCH (Community INformation CHristchurch), Christchurch and districts online community directory, from Christchurch City Libraries.
By having your programme details listed on CINCH it will be easy for anyone to find out what you offer and how to get involved with your programme. All you have to do is fill in the CINCH form.
Create flyers and posters with the Easy Promotion tool
Active Canterbury gives you the ability to create your own promotional material that looks great, simply by filling in the information about your programme and following the easy steps on your screen.
It's easy, it's fun and it's free!!
So, go and create your own promotional material now!

Evaluate your programmes
Evaluation is an important process for physical activity professionals as it can help you find out if your participants are becoming more active. You may also need to evaluate your programmes for funding purposes.
- Evaluation Resource: Is My Programme Making A Difference? (PDF, 400KB)
- Physical Activity and Nutrition Survey Spreadsheet (Excel, 955KB)
- Physical Activity and Nutrition Survey Spreadsheet Operating Instructions (PDF, 182KB)
The Active Canterbury Evaluation Resource is also available in CD and paper form. Please contact info@activecanterbury.org.nz if you would prefer to access the Resource in either of these ways.
Keep updated about physical activity information
Once you have listed your programme on CINCH you can register with Active Canterbury to receive regular newsletters with interesting articles and information about upcoming training opportunities – most of which are free! Contact Maria Moran for more information.
Develop networks with other professionals in Canterbury
Registered Active Canterbury physical activity professionals will have opportunities to meet with physical activity, recreation, sport and health professionals in their area to enable information sharing and networking.
